Don Wells is a senior cybersecurity executive with 25+ years of experience of advancing mission-critical technology, and cybersecurity risk initiatives for large organizations, leading client delivery teams, and supporting industry-wide standards organizations.   Don excels in Cybersecurity Strategy, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Cloud Security, Information Assurance, and Identity & Access (IAM). 

Don is a client service-oriented problem-solver with extensive experience leading high-performing, results-oriented teams delivering transformational, innovative solutions designed to balance compliance with business agility.  He is highly organized and analytical with excellent leadership, team-building skills, and a demonstrated history of leading complex cybersecurity, infrastructure and cloud computing programs in DoD and commercial environments

Prior to starting Luminary, Don was Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for Booz Allen where he had executive responsibilities for cybersecurity operations across the enterprise, including all client-serving networks, systems, and data.  Don also held a variety of client and market-facing technical leadership roles, including chief engineer overseeing strategic aspects of the planning and execution of a full system delivery life-cycle implementation serving defense and intelligence clients.

Don is an honorably discharged veteran from the United States Air Force, where he served over 6 years as an Intelligence Analyst. He holds an MBA from UMD Robert H. Smith, MS in Cybersecurity, BS in Computer Information Technology, and CISSP-ISSEP certifications.
